The market had been going gangbusters. Big. Fat. Bull. Market. It was up 7% in Q1, 5% in Q2 and then 11% in Q3. And then in Q4, it had a pullback. Not a crash. It was down 3%. But like...what'd you expect after all that up-ness?

Pullbacks are normal parts of the de-risking process of investing. Those who have made nice profits are happy to lock in gains and get the cash they need for those alimony payments.
