Universal Market Integrity Rules - UMIR
The Universal Market Integrity Rules (UMIR) are Canadian, eh? It’s a set of rules for Canada’s trading practices—because Canadians are nice and have integrity. You already know that Canadians are nice, but where does this “integrity” come from? The rules are set by an independent regulator, the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (the IIROC). The rules aim to keep things fair (because Canada) and efficient (because capitalism). Sounds like somebody has their act together.
