Odds of Getting In
The odds of getting in are pretty good. Employment in the field is expected to increase over the coming decade by a whopping sixteen percent—much faster than the growth of the average job (source). Unless you live in a cave (with a good internet connection), you may have noticed that Americans have become progressively more health-conscious in the past decade.
For dietitians, an informed patient makes their job easier when they (the dietitian) are prescribing a meal plan. Instead of getting a blank look when they mention trans fats, these days they often at least get a shrug of the shoulders and a response like, "Yeah, I know margarine, packaged foods, canned soups, and fast foods aren't good." So, take success where you can find it.
