With some guidance and support from adults, use technology, including the Internet, to produce and publish writing as well as to interact and collaborate with others; demonstrate sufficient command of keyboarding skills to type a minimum of two pages in a single sitting.

This standard asks students to use technology—and specifically the Internet—to research, write, and collaborate with peers. While this standard is very similar to the one used in the fourth grade, the chief difference is that students are now prompted to write two pages per sitting, rather than one. This ensures that they are progressing their keyboard skills at a consistent rate.
