Thank you We sneak in College wanna one location Let's
- 00:11
talk about the various things you need to consider when
- 00:14
deciding where to go to call probably ten categories or
- 00:17
so one of the first ones would be just geography
- 00:20
and that's What part of the country do you want
Full Transcript
- 00:22
to go to A lot of students want to stay
- 00:24
pretty close to home and that is totally fine if
- 00:27
you think you want to be within ten or fifteen
- 00:28
miles of home there's nothing wrong with that But other
- 00:31
students want to go thousands of miles away And there
- 00:33
are a lot of reasons for your looking at different
- 00:35
parts of the country You might be from california and
- 00:39
you really tired of how dull the weather actually khun
- 00:41
b and you think i want to go to new
- 00:42
england where the walls are beautiful or i want to
- 00:45
go to the deep south and have thunderstorms I want
- 00:47
to go to the northwest and have a lot of
- 00:49
ski slopes available with a lot of snow So geography
- 00:53
is one of those for sure Another category to think
- 00:55
about is the setting of the school and that just
- 00:58
basically means urban or suburban or rural Some of the
- 01:01
more urban schools would be like in you or usc
- 01:05
or boston university that air either right downtown or very
- 01:08
close walking distance downtown Some suburban schools would include places
- 01:13
like tufts and stanford but they're pretty close to a
- 01:16
city but not write in it or northwestern on dh
- 01:19
Then there are the rural schools which a lot of
- 01:20
students think there is nothing i want to do with
- 01:22
that they're out in the middle of cows and corning
- 01:25
freeze but one of the things he find about a
- 01:27
lot of those places is that they have this really
- 01:30
super charming little college town and it has all the
- 01:32
basics You can walk right to it The skies were
- 01:35
darkened night so you can see stars and yes there
- 01:37
may be cows out there and porn over here but
- 01:40
you find that they're actually really tight knit student bodies
- 01:42
You're also going to talk about the size of the
- 01:44
university and some of the bigger universities they're going to
- 01:47
have twenty five thirty thirty five thousand students on the
- 01:50
campus where it is vibrant and students are walking around
- 01:54
all day long and they're like small cities unto themselves
- 01:57
and they can feel either impersonal or really ex setting
- 02:00
just depending on who you are A lot of medium
- 02:03
size schools are out there between like foreign ten thousand
- 02:06
and those air places like the ivies or duke northwestern
- 02:10
vanderbilt santa clara I think they feel just They're kind
- 02:14
of in between somewhere And then he had a lot
- 02:16
of small colleges Typically those air about a thousand students
- 02:20
up to about four thousand And you find a lot
- 02:22
of the small new england college is midwestern College is
- 02:26
not as money on the west coast or in the
- 02:28
southwest but there are a lot of the small colleges
- 02:31
where we get a lot of personal attention Consider your
- 02:35
colleges geography like in what part of the country do
- 02:38
you want to attend college Consider your colleges setting Do
- 02:42
you prefer urban sub urban or rural areas like you
- 02:45
want to go the big city or the big farm
- 02:48
Examples of urban schools include gnu usc and boston university
- 02:54
Examples of sub urban schools toughs stanford princeton northwestern rural
- 03:01
schools feature charming towns tightknit student communities and lots of
- 03:06
corn and cows Consider the size of your college You
- 03:10
want large medium or small and fries With that you
- 03:15
want to attend a large college like twenty five thirty
- 03:18
five fifty thousand students You want to attend a medium
- 03:22
sized college five to ten thousand students You want to
- 03:26
attend a small college one to four thousand students what's 00:03:30.588 --> [endTime] your flavor
