So what are scale models?

Well, they're exact replicas of the real thing – only smaller. [Coop pointing at a blackboard]

Unlike ordinary models, a scale model follows a very important guideline: When objects are [Dino pointing at a blackboard]

modeled “to scale”, the height, width and length are all reduced or increased by

the same amount.

So if we were to, say, reduce the height of the actual Empire State Building by 1,000…

Then we need to divide the length and width by 1,000 as well.

We can now say our model is “to scale”.

So why are we so excited about these little beauties?

Well, scale models are super useful!

They use to-scale models to plan out what they’re constructing and make everything

exactly the way they want it before they build the real thing.
