How we cite our quotes: All quotations are from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Quote #4
HARRY: But she's my friend too!
MERPERSON: Only one!
The second task in the Triwizard Tournament asks the champions to rescue "treasure" from the bottom of the lake. What treasure, you ask? Naturally, we're not talking like pearls or iPhones. Nope, the treasure consists of people—the folks who are nearest and dearest to the champions.
When Harry gets down to the bottom, he finds that both Ron and Hermione are there and, since they are both his friends, he tries to save them both. Apparently this is the wrong move, though, since Hermione is meant for Krum. So, Harry has to leave her for Krum to take back to shore.
Quote #5
HERMIONE: Viktor's gone to go and get drinks. Would you care to join us?
RON: No, we'd not care to join you and Viktor.
HERMIONE: What's got your wand in a knot?
RON: He's a Durmstrang. You're fraternizing with the enemy.
HERMIONE: The enemy? Who was it wanting his autograph? Besides, the whole point of the tournament is international magical cooperation. To make friends.
Hermione is still totally into the whole making new friends aspect of the tournament, but Ron isn't having any of it (especially now that Viktor Krum and Hermione are dating). But of course, that's probably because Ron's more than a little bit jealous of Viktor and Hermione's love thing. Hmm, could he want to be more than just friends with her?
Quote #6
VOLDEMORT: Welcome, my friends. Thirteen years it's been, and yet, here you stand before me as though it were only yesterday. I confess myself disappointed. Not one of you tried to find me. Crabbe! Macnair! Goyle! Not even you, Lucius.
Voldemort's Death Eater friends aren't super-loyal or reliable. Color us shocked. As a result, the Dark Lord is pretty angry.
