How we cite our quotes: All quotations are from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Quote #7
DUMBLEDORE: In light of recent events, the bonds of friendship we've made this year will be more important than ever. Remember that, and Cedric Diggory will not have died in vain. You remember that, and we'll celebrate a boy who was kind and honest, and brave and true, right to the very end.
See, that's exactly what Sirius was saying: when stuff gets dangerous, you pull the friends who can trust closer. Harry and his friends don't really have time or space for a lot of teen angst if it's going to push them apart, since they will need all their strength to deal with Voldy being back.
Quote #8
DUMBLEDORE: Cedric Diggory was, as you all know, exceptionally hard-working, infinitely fair-minded, and, most importantly a fierce, fierce friend.
Sniff. It's true: Cedric was a good friend. He made sure that he didn't have any unfair advantages in the tournament, and he stuck up for Harry/told his friends to stop wearing "Potter Stinks!" buttons when everyone in the school thought Harry had cheated. He was definitely a good guy who took his friends/fellow students seriously.
Quote #9
DUMBLEDORE: Dark and difficult times lie ahead. Soon we must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy. But remember this: You have friends here. You're not alone.
Hogwarts is like the Cheers! of the wizarding world: Here, everybody knows your name. What does that mean in this context? Well, simply that this is a safe place where people care about you. Something tells us that Hogwarts is going to be a pretty important safe-haven as Voldemort gets more active with his evil plans.
